Ride-hailing app Uber ranked London, Ontario as Canada’s most party-fueled city. Nicknamed the Forest City, London has registered the highest volume of ride bookings between 10 PM and 2 AM.
Some might not be surprised by the ranking since the southwestern city has garnered a party animal reputation for its student bashes and clubbing nights. But now, Uber Canada’s first-ever Nightlife Index solidifies this status.
By collecting data about consumers’ behavior between September 2021 and September 2022, the index revealed that nightlife is “making a major comeback.” At the forefront of this motto are Ontario’s Londoners, who stay out partying the latest. According to the index, most Uber rides occur between 2 AM and 4 AM.
Uber’s communications lead for Canada, Keerthana Rang said that the ranking doesn’t stand in the number of Uber accounts.
“Wild London may not have the most Uber accounts than any other city, the number of people using Uber during these late hours is the highest when you compare it to other cities across the country.”
Ontario’s Mayor Ed Holder called London’s Uber ranking an “exceptionally positive one,” according to Global News. However, Holder stressed about the importance of partying safely and responsibly, saying that he “would rank London as the most responsible city in Canada.”
