In a heartfelt tribute to its much-anticipated 2022 edition, Belgian festival Tomorrowland released a short documentary about its triumphant comeback.
Produced in collaboration with Amazon Music, We Are Tomorrow doesn’t stop at showcasing the festival’s electronic-soaked grandeur. Instead, it dives deep into what made Tomorrowland the mammoth it is today – the festival-goers whose home translates into the sacred grounds of Boom.
Both idyllic and easy on the eyes, the 24-minute short film follows the individual journeys of four Tomorrowland attendees. Through the stories of German beatmaker Topic, Indian-born chef and Tomorrowland Ambassador Gaggan Anand, Kenyan business owner Vicky Tah and Belgian mainstage dancer Kelly De Clercq, the documentary portrays four different, raw, and genuine festival experiences.
Under the creative direction of director Wim Bonte, We Are Tomorrow transcends the formality of a stiff documentary as it follows the protagonists on both festival grounds and their natural habitat – be it in the studio, at rehearsals, or home.
While the whole world of electronic greenhorns, techno aficionados and house devotees descend on Belgium to immerse themselves in the universal language of music, the four attendees share their stories about what the festival means to them.
The 2022 summer will be remembered for many things – but Tomorrowland’s lusted-after return will surely go down in the books. For three weekends, EDM lovers got a taste of a fairy tale world where mystical decor, electronic beats, and jaw-dropping animations reign supreme.
