Following a one-year hiatus, LGBT+ party concept Homobloc is planting its roots once again in Manchester’s clubbing scene – and this time, it will offer on-site sexual health testing, lube, and condoms.

The rainbow-striped block party will take over Manchester’s Depot Mayfield this Saturday, 5th November. Known for bringing in the best club anthems, Homobloc will allow party-goers to test themselves for HIV, hepatitis, and syphilis.

According to a statement from Homobloc, tests only take “five to ten minutes” and results will be sent via text message after being sent to the laboratory. Manchester-based national charity LGBT Foundation will team up with non-profit organization WELSafe to conduct the testing site.

In a social media video, the LGBT Foundation’s sexual health officer Craig Langton, said that party-goers will get their dry blood test results in two to three weeks.

“We will be doing dry blood spot testing between the hours of two and six. You will do a quick fingerprick sample with us and we will send off your kit.”

The 14-hour dance marathon features a lineup monopolised by all-time favorite music heroes. Roaring names such as Honey Dijon, The Blessed Madonna, and Róisín Murphy will hype up Homobloc Manchester’s crowds.

All proceeds from the collection will go towards The Proud Test, LGBT Foundation, George House Trust and Greater Manchester LGBTQ+ Community Fund.
