Fusion festival features more than 20 different stages. While most of these stages are dedicated to electronic music sessions, others are designed to host top bands and artists. Mr Shirazy and Stavroz are some of the artists who performed at Fusion in the past years. Lesser known bands play at the smaller stages.

3. Kulturkosmos is the organizer of the festival

Kulturkosmos, a non-profit association, has been hosting Fusion festival since its first edition in 1999. Every year, people of various colors, cultures, and nationalities who form a part of this association, join efforts to ensure the success of this impressive event.

Many of these organizers work in the field of arts and culture, while others come from completely different backgrounds.

What could be better than hearing first-rate musicians setting their instruments on fire on the stage? Well, ripping out some rhythms on your own!

Although the main music genre featured at Fusion festival is electronic, there is no music style restriction as festival-goers can bring their own instruments

This great feature allows attendees to take part in this vibrant event and enjoy it in their own way.

5. The festival does not make profit from the drinks

Fusion festival is a place where you can drink for a cause.

The festival has several bars that are managed by different groups and collectives with a subcultural, left-wing political, or artistic background. This means that no private profit is made from the sold drinks.

With each drink purchased, you are contributing to a solidarity story, a cultural initiative, or a left-wing political movement.

6. Fusion festival is comparable to top festivals worldwide

Far from a typical music festival, this event is dominated by an avant-gardist attitude and as the name implies, a melding of arts. “European Burning Man” is the nickname that best describes Fusion festival’s unique vibe.

Fusion offers festival-goers the chance to socialize freely and share their love for music and art. The festival’s art installations include performing arts, static artworks, sculptures, art cars, and various other forms.

7. The festival’s popularity is skyrocketing

As Fusion festival’s popularity has been ever-soaring and the number of attendees reached 70,000, the organizers had to limit tickets. Since 2013, tickets have been drawn by lots, to retain a limited number of festival-goers.

As a result, thousands of ticketless people tended to climb over the fence to attend the festival. This issue urged organizers to put twice as many barricades around the site.

The organizers’ concern was protecting the concept from becoming unbalanced because of the large crowd.

8. The festival offers jobs and volunteer opportunities

As the festival grew over the years, the event organizers have been in need of more helping hands. This is why the association hires staff whose primary responsibility is to manage the festival and ensure everything runs smoothly.

Aside from the job opportunities, volunteers have the chance to take part in the event as well. In every edition, many volunteers gather weeks prior to the festival to handle the preparations.

9. Fusion festival has party breaks

Those who would like to discover the various areas that the festival boasts without missing any music sessions can benefit from the Party Breaks or “Feierpause”.

During this period, the main stage shuts down and festival-goers are encouraged to clean up the place and relax. Attendees can also head to the smaller stages for an extra dose of music.

10. Fusion festival 2019 was on the verge of being canceled

Following an untoward incident in the festival’s history, there ensued a scuffle between the police and the festival organizers in 2019. The Police requested its  presence on-site to ensure the safety of festival attendees.

Besides that, they also sought the presence of  plain-clothed policemen around the five-day festival.

The festival organizers were opposed to these demands. They argued that the presence of unmarked cops at the festival would go against the festival’s concept of artistic freedom. This disagreement sparked a conflict between the police and the organizers, putting the festival in jeopardy of being canceled.

Seek refuge from the lethargy of your daily life at this extraordinary gathering of diverse people. With its mix of music, art, and culture, give your soul that much-needed refreshing break at Fusion festival.
