Firefly festival is a top-tier music experience set in a lively atmosphere of Dover, Delaware. It celebrates both renowned headliners and emerging artists.
The festival was introduced to music enthusiasts in the US in 2012 by AEG Presents, a Los Angeles-based live entertainment production company. The four-day annual festivals occurs in the end of September.
This vibrant festival lights up on the vast grounds of Dover Motor Speedway, in Dover, Delaware, on the eastern coast of USA.
Firefly features a mix of the best pop, indie, rock, hip-hop, and electronic tunes, setting the stages on fire for several days in a row.

1. The festival takes place across different stages
The grandeur of the event is reflected in every detail of the festival. One of the major features of the Firefly festival is the abundance of music stages.
The festival showcases seven different stages – The Porch Stage, The Lawn Stage, The Backyard Stage, the Treehouse, The Coffee House, The Pavilion, and The Firefly Stage.
Every night, these stages host different top names in music, making the floor reverberate with magical beats.
2. The festival features multi-genre music, drawings thousands of attendees
The mix of music genres that the festival features invites a wide range of people to join the crowd, put their hands in the air, and dance to the beat.
Showcasing the best pop, indie, rock, hip-hop, and electronic music, the festival was expecting up to 90,000 attendees in 2015.
3. The festival’s stages have been host to the biggest names in music

Every year, and across its different stages, this festival hosts a variety of popular musicians and bands with increasing popularity. In 2012, the festival was introduced to the United States’ festival calendar featuring some top artists including John Legend, The Wallflowers, and Blind Pilot.
4. During the first festival held in 2012, Passion Pit’s performance was canceled
First held in 2012, the festival had scheduled some popular names in the music industry such as John Legend, Bassnectar, and The Flaming Lips.
Although Passion Pit was also scheduled to perform among the other popular musicians and bands, their show was canceled due to lead singer Michael Angelakos‘s ongoing treatment for bipolar disorder. Yeasayer was selected to replace Passion Pit’s performance.
5. Firefly never short fall of entertainment activities
Aside from the top-notch musical acts that the festival is home to, other entertainment activities intervene, making the event even more unique.
For example, The Hammock Hangout is a shared area where festival-goers can choose a hammock and relax.
For those who prefer to party, The Thicket may be the ultimate option. It is a silent disco area equipped with a DJ who features music that can only be heard through the headphones.
Gaming enthusiasts can also make the most of their experience at the arcade tent which provides arcade and video games.
6. Environmentalism is a major part of the event’s mission
While presenting the best artists to a wide range of audience, the festival’s management is an environmentally-conscious team. Therefore, they aim to maximize the event’s positive impact on the community and the environment, by implementing strict sustainability measures.
The measures taken tackle waste management and energy conservation. For example, festival attendees are encouraged to use reusable water bottles. They also divert waste from landfills as much as possible, among many others.
The management also encourages attendees to use greener modes of transportation, such as public transportation, carpools, and bicycles.
7. Firefly supports Toms’ “One For One Movement” program
Toms’ initiative is just another experience worth exploring at Firefly. While at the festival, attendees are offered the opportunity to meet expert artists and customize their very unique and artistic pair of TOMS shoes. For every pair of shoes sold at the festival, TOMS donates a pair of shoes to a child in need as part of their “One For One Movement”.
TOMS has attended the festival for several years in a row, contributing to the festival’s mission of community service.
8. The festival offers several pass options that suit everyone
If you want to attend the event, you will have three different passes to choose from, each with a different price range. Each pass grants you access to different areas and amenities.
The GA ticket costs $299, the VIP ticket costs $739, and the Super VIP ticket costs $2,699.
9. Firefly provides multiple lodging options
To ensure that attendees get the most out of their festival experience, Firefly offers several camping options as well as a variety of packages from which to choose.
For instance, guests can choose between tent camping, glamping, and RV camping. Each one of these options has several packages with different prices and amenity access to make sure everyone finds what they are looking for.
