The Port Bar screams Pride with every detail. From hosting Pridefest Oakland 2021 to a ceiling made of rainbow-colored glass, it doesn’t get gayer than this club.
The Port Bar was born in 2016 in Downtown Oakland. The club boasts an art collection honoring six iconic LGBT+ social justice leaders like Silvia Rivera and Harvey Milk. The bar is enhanced by rainbow-colored bottles, with pendant lights – shaped like upturned wine glasses – hanging overhead.
The Oakland jewel’s name represents the docking station where the city’s past, present, and future meet. The Port Bar is pretty serious about its themes, showcasing a bathroom fashioned like a shipping container made from authentic materials from Oakland’s Port.
The club’s music matches the night’s theme, with punk and rock on one night and Brazilian hits, reggaeton, and pop on another.
The Port Bar is always offering different experiences with fire dancers, belly dancers, go-go dancers, and top-tier drag shows. One thing you can always depend on is Pride celebrations only get bigger and bigger in The Port Bar.
As a champion of inclusivity, you can only expect the most diverse crowd to groove together on The Port Bar’s dance floor.
