The Loft is an indie club and art venue that gives a feel of a house party with the amenities of a club.
The building has been used over centuries, but the club took over in 2009, and has since proved that simplicity is sometimes the best way to go.
Located on Lerchenfelder Gürtel, a busy city street, The Loft stands out in a crowd of stores. Gürtel is close to the infamous red-light district in the heart of Vienna. The Loft is in a former factory spanning three floors.
Below and Above are where you let go of all the week’s pent-up stress, while The Cafe is where you can go slow and maybe sip on some hot-cocoa. The Living Room – residing on the same floor as Above – can be rented for private events and gatherings.
The club plays pop music appealing to all weekenders, and occasionally hosts open mic nights where freestylers and slam poets showcase their talents. You can catch some live performances and mingle with the lively crowd.
The nightclub has a refreshing casualness to it. It is a cultural center where you go to meet like-minded individuals while having a drink or two.
The Loft displays a mellower spirit of Viennese nightlife. It is far from the ferocity of techno clubs and leans toward a more laidback atmosphere.
