The George is an old LGBT+ club that reflects the perfect image of Dublin’s nightlife scene.
The club began in 1985 in Dublin City Centre, housed in what used to be a shellfish tavern in 1780. Its exterior looks like a vintage Irish pub, decorated with balloons in the colors of the pride flag.
The George has been a home ground for the LGBTI+ community looking for a welcoming environment to indulge in some great pop and electronic music. Events at the club include game nights, live drag performances, DJ parties, cabaret, dance performances, and karaoke sessions.
The club has played a pivotal role in supporting LGBT+ rights by being a platform for free expression by the community. The club has hosted many drag queens, community leaders, and celebrities.
