Reigning at the forefront of bulletproof techno beats, Schimanski has earned its reputation as one of underground music’s most precious jewels.

Established in 2016, founder Eddie Dean purchased the venue known previously as Verboten nightclub for $1.2 million. Schimanski is located in the Williamsburg neighborhood in east Brooklyn, known for a hip and fashionable crowd, trendy cafes, and waterside views of the Manhattan skyline.

Housed in a warehouse-like brick building with graffiti scattered throughout the building’s exterior, iron grates cover the windows giving off a grungy look to the space.

An underground aura of wood floors, exposed ceilings, and a wrap-around video projector creates trippy visuals for clubbers to lose themselves in. Several disco balls and swiveling lights create a fun atmosphere on the dance floor. A silver glimmering hammerhead shark hangs above Schimanski’s long bar.

Since Schimanski is one of the torchbearers of New York’s electronic dance scene, it comes as no surprise that the club boasts a rotation of house and techno beats by world-renowned DJs.

With a high-quality Alpha Dynacord sound system, DJs Zedd, KREAM, Nina Kraviz, Tiesto, Gryffin, and Malaa, have all experienced state-of-the-art sound here. Schimanski hosts high-profile setlists and VIP birthday celebrations like for former model and college basketball player Miss Jennifer.

Thanks to its underground atmosphere and masterful DJ sets, the alternative and funky Schimanski nightclub is more than a simple night out–it’s an experience.
