Monarch nightclub was established by Tadd Cortell, Manny Alfarez, and Chris Smith in 2011. It is in the Theatre District, east San Francisco. The area is a buzzing nightlife hotspot known for its abundance of theaters, bars, and restaurants.
Monarch’s entrance opens up to an upscale cocktail bar and lounge area featuring a hoop for aerial performances. The club’s interior is luxurious, featuring velvet curtains, heavy gold mirrors, and antique furnishings.
Unlike the cocktail bar upstairs, the interiors of the dance floor in the basement feature sleek all-black walls with a disco ball and lights for an underground club aesthetic.
Equipped with a powerful VOID sound system, Monarch is dedicated to everything electronic with a focus on house and techno. From locals to tourists, the club is a mandatory stop-over for a diversity of club-goers.
