Metro Club Theatre is a renowned club in Budapest, which used to be a hotspot for Hungarian beat music in the 60s.
The nightclub was established in 1961 in the Erzsébetváros district east of downtown Budapest. The club began in what was one of Europe’s largest toy stores, Árkád Bazár, in a five-story multi-establishment building in Dohany. This legendary nightlife venue is one of the longest-running clubs in Budapest. It was initially named after the M2 Metro construction workers who needed an entertainment venue after work.
Music diversity is part of Metro Club Theatre’s ethos. The Budapest nightclub features everything from rap to electronic and Afrobeats to pop. Boasting stellar live performances like Hungarian singer-songwriter Robert Bérczesi and world-renowned DJs, having a blast at Metro Club Theatre is not an option – it’s a certainty.
Having been in operation for over six decades, Metro Club Theatre has garnered the status of a nightlife institution that is here to stay.
Celebrities like Croatian actor Luka Peros was seen there. The club attracts a glam crowd of locals and tourists.
