Clwb Ifor Bach is one of Cardiff’s most unique live music venues.
Clwb Ifor Bach began its journey in 1983 on Womanby Street, one of Cardiff’s oldest streets in the Cardiff City Centre. The building is hard to miss as the black exterior walls are painted with a mural of Welsh musician Gwenno Saunders. Once inside, the venue spans two floors, both being minimalistic and intimate.
This club is primarily known for its rock sounds, but the eclectic venue is welcoming to music of all kinds, be it punk, folk, indie pop, or other styles. Live performances by big industry stars frequently take over the stage, with the likes of Coldplay, George Ezra, and Mark Ronson. The diverse sounds and acts bring in an equally varied audience.
Initially founded as a members-only club dedicated to promoting the Welsh language in Cardiff, Clwb Ifor Bach is now celebrated for its strong identity in serving the best and most diverse live bands and rock musicians over the years.
