Black Cat is one of the city’s most popular live venues to indulge in great food, drinks, and rock music.
Black Cat combines a live-music venue, a bar, and a cafe in the heart of U Street Corridor, Washington’s center. Since its debut in 1993, the club has been offering party-goers live indie music.
The multi-level venue gives off dark and grungy vibes. Black Cat spans two spaces: ‘The Red Room Bar,’ where you can sip a drink and play pinball in a laid-back atmosphere, and the ‘Mainstage Concert Room’ with more floor space and is characterized by interestingly patterned tiles.
Although Black Cat is most renowned for showcasing indie rock, it hosts dance nights and features metal, punk, and electronic music. Over the years, stellar rock bands, such as The Fall and Rancid, have graced Black Cat’s stage with outstanding performances.
Black Cat caters to rock-lovers – regardless of age or background – who enjoy the venue’s laid-back atmosphere and music.
Due to its history and underground feel, Black Cat has become a local favorite in Washington.
