Blå is considered one of the most integral clubs for the jazz and alternative scene.
Blå was first established by Kjell Einar Karlsen and Martin Revheim on February 28, 1998. This venue is situated Grunnelokka on the eastern area of Oslo. It is set in a factory building that is covered with cool graffity on the river banks of Akerselva. The venue itself is split into two, one being the indoor club that hosts concerts and the other an outdoor cafe.
This club is a melting pot of alternative music, ranging from jazz, R&B to metal and punk. Blå often holds its concerts early in the night and then turns it into a lively club when it gets late—inviting both local and international DJs.
Oslo’s Blå is dedicated to giving a platform for up-and-coming acts and established musicians. They are contributing heavily to the already flourishing alternative scene of Oslo and Norway as a whole.
