Your big night out in Amsterdam isn’t complete without a taste of the city’s best drunk food. After spending your night partying until dawn at the vibrant Club NYX or getting lost in the massive AIR Amsterdam, these late-night drunk food spots are all you need to wrap up the night.

This city has everything your heart desires – from piping hot croquettes at Febo to meaty shawarmas at Sefa Restaurant BBQ & Grill-Room.

1. Croquette at Febo

Partying in Amsterdam wouldn’t be complete without the ultimate Amsterdam late-night food – Febo’s hot croquette. A classic Dutch deep-fried roll filled with a ragout made with spices, meats/veggies, and breadcrumbs is everything your taste buds crave after a boozy clubbing session.

As a walk-up fast food franchise, Febo spreads across 22 locations all over Amsterdam.  You can find one directly at the heart of Amsterdam’s popular nightlife square, Leidseplein

Taking the fast-food concept to the next level, Febo serves its food in an automatic format. Their croquettes are kept in small compartments to make sure they are warm. Simply insert coins, open the door, and gorge.

They also serve other kinds of croquettes featuring veal and beef and other dishes like bami and chicken burgers—what a treat for your late-night food.

2. Broodje shawarma at Sefa Restaurant BBQ & Grill-Room

Next up on your list of Amsterdam drunk food is a warm broodje shawarma from Sefa Restaurant BBQ & Grill-Room.  A delish lamb shawarma is everything you need to get through the post-clubbing dreadful hangover.

Situated in Grachtengordel-West, the halal restaurant is just a 2-minute walk from the iconic Anne Frank House.

Here you get to enjoy a cornucopia of authentic Turkish meals, sprinkled with a variety of sandwiches like chicken doner, Turkish pizza, and mixed grills.

With 4.5 stars on Google Reviews, Sefa Restaurant BBQ & Grill-Room is well-known for its masterful way of adding the right seasoning. If their touristy location hasn’t convinced you, should we add that the restaurant keeps its ingredients fresh?

3. BBQ ribs at Cannibale Royale

For a greasier late-night dish, head down to Cannibale Royale. Their trademark Cannibale’s Favourite Ribs is a finger-licking plate of slowly roasted ribs glazed with a sweet marinade.

Situated in the southern area of Burgwallen Nieuwe Zijde, Cannibale Royale is a restaurant that mixes the chicness of a French brasserie with bold man cave vibes.

Another popular menu item is the massive Plateau de Cannibale for 2, a platter with homemade pork belly, käsekrainer sausage, Cannibale’s favorite ribs, roasted chicken, Cannibale’s pickle, sauces, and bread. It sounds like a handful because it is.

Besides its savoury and tender meats, Cannibale Royale has garnered serious popularity as a late-night hang out due to its quality ingredients and unique, cosy environment. Plus, there’s a bar waiting to serve you the freshest cocktails and craft beers.

4. Roti-Kip Ei at Roopram Roti

The Roti-Kip Ei from Roopram Roti is a unique Amsterdam late-night food, a traditional Surinamese meal filled with chicken, eggs, and classic roti.

When Roopram Roti was first established, there was a huge demand for traditional roti on the Dutch market. But exporting frozen roti from Suriname was no easy feat, so that’s where the restaurant stepped in.

The first Roopram Roti was founded by Mr. J.Roopram in 2002 in Rotterdam and eventually made its way to Amsterdam.

Located close to the city centre in Oud-Oost, Roopram Roti is a popular franchise serving classic Surinamese meals like Rotirol Kip, Roti Kip, and Roti Doks.

Late-night partygoers can’t get enough of the eatery’s spicy sauce and delicious meals, as massive queues typically form out the door.

5. The Real Bite burger at Burger Bar

A staple Amsterdam drunk food is Burger Bar’s the Real Bite Burger – a delicious combination of Irish beef on a sesame bun, topped with old Amsterdam cheese, sun-dried tomatoes, crispy onions and a side of fries. There can’t be a more mouth-watering concoction than this one.

The burger franchise has a popular spot in Binnenstad, just a 3-minute walk from the Oude Church.

Besides the Real Bite menu, the late-night food hotspot also offers some other delicacies in their extensive menu. How do you feel about a blue Irish menu putting blue cheese in the spotlight and a Benedict menu with fried eggs? Delish, we know.

Whether it’s their locally-baked buns or their fresh lettuce leaves, Burger Bar throws the quality ingredients card on the table. With their variety of burgers, there are many options to explore.

Plus, you are in charge of creating your ideal burger. The build-your-own system lets you choose anything and everything that’s going on in your burger – from the vegetables to the bun.
