Reigning at the forefront of bulletproof techno beats, BASEMENT is the first nightclub in New York City dedicated to this genre.
Established in 2019, BASEMENT is hidden beneath the Knockdown Center–a 50,000-square-foot contemporary art and performance space. The building is located in Maspeth neighborhood of west Queens, which used to be a glass manufacturing plant that now hides a prominent dance spot in the city.
Although relatively new to the New York nightclub scene, BASEMENT’s opening weekend has hosted heavy-hitters FJAAK, Sophia Saze, Etapp Kyle, Aurora Halal, and Somewhen. BASEMENT has since featured local and international DJs in the techno scene.
Expect nothing but the finest hypnotic techno beats blasting through their Funktion One sound system. BASEMENT is the city’s response to Berghain, Germany’s most iconic nightclub.
Flex your knowledge of the city with a venue that is a little more discreet, attracting a crowd of locals who are in the know. Clubbers who come here have passed the vibe-check and emit deeply chill vibes.
With its state-of-the-art sound system, underground aura, and world-renowned DJs, BASEMENT has carved a niche for itself that will be here to stay.
