ADE 2022 – Amsterdam Dance Event Unique Events

With less than a month to go until Amsterdam Dance Event 2022 finally kicks off, it’s high time we do some digging on the outlandish events that will take over Amsterdam. 

From waking up and raving at ADE’s Breakfast Club to jumping on a cruise journey where black music heroes take over the decks at Canal Cruise The Sounds of Blackness, we created a list of the quirkiest events that ADE 2022 has in store.

Thuishaven’s ADE Thursday event is a go-to choice if you crave Burning Man vibes in a European setting. The open-air location will host two events in one, split into day and night shows and spanning several stages and areas.

What takes the cake is the venue’s mystical decorations and installations, fit for ravers who want to be stimulated in more ways than one. 

Though Amsterdam Dance Event 2022 is a city-heavy festival, Thuishaven’s Thursday Event will be a much-needed idyllic escape. The eclectic lineup and venue will strike your fancy whether your aesthetic is cottagecore or grungy. There is a bonus – a tree-house-like bar and restaurant awaiting to be discovered.

If you’re on a budget yet want to be part of as many festivities as possible, We Are E Showcase is a free ADE event held in an Amsterdam alternative nightlife spot, Bar Feijoa.

Its varied drink menu and signature cocktails list complemented by thumping tunes set the watering hole apart from its bar counterparts. Plaisirs Sonores Records will present up-and-coming international talents to a crowd of techno-heads.

With increased awareness of systematic racism and the unfair disadvantage people of colour endure worldwide, Amsterdam Dance Event gives a platform for black artists to share joy and tunes. ADE has been holding The Sounds of Blackness events since 2012, solidifying its stance on giving credit where it’s due.

As pioneers in the electronic music industry, black artists have been a source of inspiration and influence since the rise of the synth. The Canal Cruise event will be a silent disco party on a Starboard boat, taking techno-heads through the beauty of Amsterdam, topped off with electrifying music.

If you think celebrations of Black culture ended with the boat cruise, you are highly mistaken.

ADE takes it further with a dedicated after-hours event to The Sounds of Blackness. Renowned international black DJs will spin the decks at The Jungle Amsterdam, a club with tropical aesthetics formerly known as YOLO.

The ADE festival event is a siren call for party-goers sick of the city’s hustle and bustle. CrossTown ADE Weekender is a three-day luxurious event for those who want to be pampered and experience glamping.

In this all-inclusive spiritual escape, electronic aficionados will stay in a picturesque boutique hotel called The Unbound where rhythmic beats reign supreme. From henna artists to group meditation sessions in green Amsterdam fields, CrossTown is a mini-festival within ADE, catered to your inner flower-child.

With an instrumental twist on electronic sounds, Berlin-based producer Bon Böhmer proves worthy of an eponymous event celebrating his music artistry. DGTL is a global festival that will combine its independent party vision with ADE’s electronic powerhouse.

With Bon Böhmer at the helm of the NDSM event, ADE festival-goers are bound to be amazed at the former harbor wharf. Böhmer’s niche is his live improvisation and ability to deliver unheard sounds with every performance.

As ADE continues to prove its equality, diversity, and inclusivity mission, Shakers is a trailblazing festival event focused on women-identifying DJs.

Gender and sex inequalities can only be tackled with proactivity and substantial efforts, which ADE aims to advocate. The event will be held at Prik, an LGBT+ bar with outdoor and indoor spaces, and the lineup includes up-and-coming international and female-only talents.

Mike Williams, a connoisseur in his own right, will be serenading festival-goers with his piano, blurring the lines between EDM beats and instrumental music.

Before the intimate live performance, Williams is scheduled to host an exclusive dinner, cooked and served by his alter ego Mike Grilliams. The event will take over the Hotel Arena, a scenic hotel residing in an Amsterdam park.

Breakfast Club is renowned for its endless partying escapades and incredible location choices. This year, Breakfast Club and Amsterdam Dance Event 2022 unite their pure love of euphoric raving in a former factory, Hemkade 48, with sweeping views over the North Sea Canal.

The industrial and raw venue is a maze, creating an ineffable space for the ultimate rave experience as you get lost in sound and space. Breakfast Club ADE Saturday has a diverse lineup of electronic DJs spinning anything from psytrance to techno, starting at 10 AM.

The Gardens of Babylon is a spiritual initiative, creating a beautiful concoction of music and transcendence. The Seekers of Light is an event tailored to the liking of crystal-wearing and mandala-owning ravers. The ADE day show will feature meditation areas, multi-sensory party experiences, and a market for festival keepsakes.

In stark contrast with the premise of the ADE event, WesterUnie is the designated venue. This Amsterdam nightclub found shelter in Westergasfabriek, a former industrial plant now utilized as a cultural park, where WesterUnie brings its iconic sound in a quirky location.

Whether you want to shake things up or dive into experimental sounds in an intimate setting, this ADE event is for those who want a bird’s-eye-view of contemporary beats.

Live music is in the epicenter of the Pllek Nightclubbing Special, and Reflektor Records will be the main provider for diverse electronic performances. Pllek is an entertainment complex with a restaurant, spacious terrace, and music venue on NDSM, a former harbor wharf.

You won’t know what hit you at this ADE event as psychedelic electronic beats take you to otherworldly places. If you are all about raw beats, intimate clubbing sessions and underground vibes, this bad boy is for you.

The layering of sounds, elements of nature, and familiar noises manipulated to hypnotize festival-goers will be played in an equally captivating underground venue, Doka.

W.T.F.C.O, which stands for When The Freak Comes Out, reflects ADE’s energy as it embodies its carefree and hedonistic ethos. Groovy tech and progressive house reign supreme at this ADE event, which will take place at Recycle Lounge Gallery Club.

Why is it so special, you ask? The event is free and without a scheduled end, so grab your energy drinks and prepare to lose yourself before finding it again after the tumultuous ADE party session.

As the name suggests, Pornceptual is an erotic and queer art movement posing essential – yet controversial to some – questions about sexual exploration and fluidity.

Pornceptual will take over Amsterdam Dance Event 2022 with a daring event for the sexually unencumbered and those curious to unleash their desires in a safe space with strict consent policies.

You are encouraged – and required – to dress the part to fully immerse yourself in Pornceptual’s ADE event. Techno music will serve as a sweet addition to the collective sensual odyssey at Parallel, an underground nightclub representing the voice of the new generation.
