The decades-old Woolloomooloo is all about kangaroos and banging music.
The Utrecht Student Corps brought the club to the city, spicing up students’ college lives since 1970. Woolloomooloo translates to ‘kangaroo,’ and the club also goes by “de Woo.”
The nightclub can be found in Benninstad, Utrecht’s city center. Woolloomooloo is spread over three ample rooms, making it the largest student club in the Netherlands.
With blue skies and wandering kangaroos on the walls, you can tell the nightclub is heavy on themes. Woolloomooloo club features wooden tables with vinyl records and bunting flags hanging from black walls.
The club takes pride in the spellbinding selection of pop and electronic music echoing through its walls.
Woolloomooloo loves its festivals nearly as much as it does its kangaroos. The club is the mastermind behind BEAT-RIX, a festival that hosts over 10,000 party animals and hosts icons like BOUGENVILLA and CHARLEON in Janskerkhof square.
The club’s primary audience is students and young locals. Gen Y and Z opt for comfort over extravagance, putting all their energy into their dance moves.
Woolloomooloo will happily oblige if having fun is at the top of your list. With its vibrant fusion of electronic and pop music, the club will keep you dancing through the night.
